Dr. Michelle Tawil (DPT, MSPT)
Dr. Michelle Tawil, DPT, MSPT is the founder and president of Tawil Physical Therapy and Sports Performance. She has a strong educational background in anatomy and human function as her undergraduate degree is in Biology. She received her Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy in 2001 from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of NJ (UMDNJ) and subsequently earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from her alma mater in 2004. Her education and clinical experience have allowed her to excel in the profession she loves. She has successfully treated thousands of patients with musculoskeletal conditions and prides herself in getting her patients feeling better and better educated about injury prevention. A life-long learner, Dr. Tawil continues to participate in continuing education courses and is trained in the following philosophies/treatment paradigms: McKenzie, Mulligan, Maitland, McConnell taping, Kinesiotaping, Myofascial Release, and Laser remodeling, just to name a few. She also enjoys teaching/instructing young adults who aspire to become Physical Therapists by being involved in work-study programs with the area high schools. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, exercising, and reading.
Matthew Moreno (PTA)
Matthew Moreno has been a treating therapist at Tawil Physical Therapy and Sports Performance since 2020 and became Clinical Director in January 2021. Matthew graduated from Union County College in 2017 and obtained his PTA license in the state of New Jersey soon after. Currently, he is working towards a Masters in Education to pursue teaching in a physical therapy program. Matthew prides himself on providing top-notch, quality care, with a passion that can only be experienced. He is certified in Blood Flow Restriction training, Functional Capacity Evaluations, and utilizes techniques from myofascial decompression to neuromuscular facilitation to help patients recover. Matthew is a strong manual therapist that believes patient education is the best way to empower each individual to take an active part in their own rehabilitation. In his free time, he enjoys cooking delicious meals, playing with his dog Jäger, and hanging out in New York City, his favorite place.
